Theater: Eccentric Applewhites

North Carolina author Stephanie S. Tolan has teamed up with Bridge to Terabithia author Katherine Patterson to adapt her book Surviving the Applewhites for the stage. This coming-of-age story set in North Carolina tells the story of troubled teen Jake Semple. After being expelled from every school in the state, Jake's gets one last chance to be homeschooled by the strange and artistic Applewhite family. Surprisingly, the Applewhites help Jake discover inner talents he never knew he had.
