THEATER: Monster

Thursday, Oct. 30

It's alive! Carolina Actors Studio Theatre has concocted an evening of entertainment by the horror of an unworthy scary creation with Monster. Based on Mary Shelley's classic horror novel Frankenstein, the production -- which was adapted by Neal Bell -- aims to bring light to the stunning creation made by the mad scientist. Is that possible? How innocent can a half-dead lookin' creature with bolts in his neck be? If I were him, I'd be pissed. Celebrate before Halloween, the day of or after as the monster-mash of a drama goes down through Nov. 15. $18-$22. Oct. 30-Nov. 15. Oct. 30, 31, 8 p.m.; Nov. 1, 6, 7, 8, 13, 14, 15, 8 p.m.; Nov. 2, 9, 2:30 p.m. Carolina Actors Studio Theatre, 1118 Clement Ave. 704-455-8542. www.nccast.com.
