THEATER: Shakespeare in Hollywood

Sunday, Feb. 1

If it wasn't bad enough that a large segment of our entertainment has become "hollywoodized" (yes, I am coining that word), then this is the official icing on the cake. Shakespeare in Hollywood has taken classic Shakespeare and spun in a modern twist. The famous fairies Oberon and Puck magically appear on the Hollywood set of Max Reinhardt's A Midsummer Night's Dream at Warner Brothers Studios. Meanwhile, a feisty flower playing Cupid starts making love connections. What's next, Paris Hilton as Juliet? Through Feb. 8. $10-$21. Feb. 1, 2:30 p.m.; Feb. 4-5, 7:30 p.m.; Feb. 6-7, 8 p.m.; Feb. 8, 2:30 p.m. Theatre Charlotte, 501 Queens Road. 704-372-1000.
