THEATER: Someone Who'll Watch Over Me

Saturday, Jan. 10

With hostages a dime a dozen scattered in various places across the world, Carolina Actors Studio Theatre's newest show Someone Who'll Watch Over Me should hit (at least a little) close to home. Following author Frank McGuiness' true story, this performance highlights the journeys of an American, an Irishman and an Englishman who are kidnapped and taken hostage in Beirut. As each one struggles with the devasting circumstances of their entrapment, they also face melting mind games launched by their captors and a home sickness that is torturous to them both mentally and physically. Check out the show to see how they hold up -- or if they even do. Through Jan. 24. $18-$22. 8 p.m. Carolina Actors Studio Theatre, 1118 Clement Ave. 704-455-8542. www.nccast.com.
