THEATER: The Bible: The Complete Word of God (abridged)

Thursday, Jan. 1

You don't have to be Christian to watch The Bible: The Complete Word of God (abridged) ... but, you do need a sense of humor. Three goofy men tamper with tough questions (like: Did Adam and Eve have belly buttons?) in an attempt to tackle theology. Watch each one tell their own version of the Bible and laugh at their amusing attempts when performances go down at Pineville Dinner Theater. Through Jan. 10. $48. Thursday & Friday, buffet dinner starts at 6 p.m. and show starts at 8 p.m.; Saturday, buffet dinner starts at 5 p.m. and show starts at 7 p.m. Pineville Dinner Theater, 10403 Park Rd., Ste. J. (Pineville) 704-544-0607. www.pinevilledinnertheatre.com.

  • On Saturday, Oct. 21, hundreds gathered at Camp North End on Statesville Avenue for Charlotte's first black alternative music festival. We captured some of the bands in action on stage, but mostly we surveyed the grounds as fans, families, vendors and more lounged around the sprawling, colorful Camp North End site. It was a great day of music, food, fun, and sweet, autumn sunshine. (Photos by Mark Kemp)
