Actor's Theatre of Charlotte presents a double whammy of holiday-themed theatrics with The Eight: Reindeer Monologues and Santaland Diaries, which will run through Dec. 21. But these aren't your typical Christmas productions about sparkling holiday glee, good deeds and a love of one's neighbor. No, siree. The Eight: Reindeer Monologues by playwright Jeff Goode features a cast who act as informed reindeers, giving the tell-all of Santa's sex scandal and Rudolph's disappearance. And if that isn't enough disgruntled holiday cheer, there's Santaland Diaries, a play that chronicles the chaotic events an elf's (Joe Rux) experiences during the festive season via consumer culture madness. You can see both acts together for $30 or pick one and see it alone. For mature audiences. The Eight: Reindeer Monologues. $15. Dec. 14, 4 p.m.; Dec. 17-20, 9 p.m.; Dec. 21, 4 p.m. Santaland Diaries. $20. Dec. 14, 2:30 p.m.; Dec. 17-20, 7:30 p.m.; Dec. 21, 2:30 p.m. Actor's Theatre of Charlotte, 650 E.
