THEATER: The Santaland Diaries

Wednesday, Dec. 16

Actor's Theatre of Charlotte brings its longtime holiday favorite and one-man show, The Santaland Diaries, back to its stage for performances through Dec. 20. The show -- by David Sedaris; adapted by Joe Mantello; directed by Chip Decker -- takes a realistic approach on just how cheerful it'd be (Not!) to work as Santa's little helper during a shopping frenzy at Macy's Santaland. A pissed-off elf whose holiday spirit is as cold as ice puts a spin on all the madness by sharing his own anecdotes, hostilities, craziness and all, about the season of merriment. For mature audiences. $15-$20. Dec. 10-12, 8 p.m.; Dec. 13, 2:30 p.m.; Dec. 16-19, 8 p.m.; Dec. 20, 2:30 p.m. Actor's Theatre of Charlotte, 650 E. Stonewall St. 704-342-2251.
