As Valentine's Day -- a time when we're supposed to get ultra lovey-dovey with those we're hot for, or if we're flying solo, super sulky with a box of chocolates -- approaches, so does V-Day via The Vagina Monologues by playwright/writer Eve Ensler. The production, happening here in the Q.C. at Carolina Actor's Studio Theatre, is a celebration of women's sexuality and experiences. The monologues are taken from real interviews with women and layered with a tangle of emotions, from humor to rage. Proceeds from both shows go to help raise money and awareness for local organizations that help to stop violence against women and girls. $15. Feb. 12, 8 p.m.; Feb. 13, 8 p.m. Carolina Actor's Studio Theatre, 1118 Clement Ave. 704-455-8542. www.nccast.com.
