OLD SCHOOL BLOCK PARTY It's been one whole year since Cans Bar & Canteen set up shop on West 5th Street. To celebrate this stupendous occasion, the folks at Cans have orchestrated a block party, "old school" style with 80s hip hop legend Rob Base and DJ Easy Rock on the stage. Promising "great tunes, good eats and cold drinks," this party will have people talking Cans for days after. It all goes down Saturday, April 21 when the parking lot across the street from the bar becomes destination central. Starting at noon, we ain't stopping until 10 p.m. for those still trying to be up for church the next day. $5 gets you in the door. Details at 704-940-0200 or www.cansbar.com.
