While Italian composer Puccini did not finish Turandot before he died, it became a distinct work of drama and tragedy. The opera tells the story of a ruthless princess who makes all her potential suitors solve riddles for her hand in matrimony. The riddles are nearly impossible to solve, and those who answer incorrectly are executed. But when the princess encounters a smart suitor, she must face the music and submit to love. (Anita Overcash)
