Weekly horoscope Aug. 12-18, 2009

You may be dealing with those whom you feel are naive and possibly over-optimistic this week. Resist the urge to pressure them to listen to your truth. Make certain that any opinion you express is noted as just that: your opinion. Otherwise you encounter blank stares from those who won't understand your point of view.

For All Signs: This is such an intense summer that there are too many cosmic events to adequately cover. Last week I described issues related to the full moon eclipse of Aug. 5. On Aug. 10, we had a rather potent closing square of Mars to Saturn. In July of 2008, this Mars/Saturn cycle began with a need to shift gears and focus attention on organizing all the details of life, your body and work. Streamlining and efficiency is the goal. Keep your eyes on the target, the goal and your daily physical regimen. Health is a priority. At this point in the cycle, we are experiencing rewards for the effort. If not, we could be feeling some guilt for ignoring these details of life.

Aries: Overall your attitude is optimistic and you enjoy general good fortune this week. Your social life is flowing favorably. Activities involving travel, publishing or the law are positive.

Taurus: Your ruling planet is Venus, goddess of love and the arts. Between Aug. 1 and the 26th your attention is drawn to parties in neighboring areas and with those of your usual environment. Those with siblings may enjoy improved relationship through this period.

Gemini: Beware of the tendency to worry over matters that may never happen. You are tempted to see the world through a dark lens this week and you may think that is the true version. You have particular concerns related to family and security matters. If there is something you can actually do to make things better, then hop on it.

Cancer: This week you are on the high side of the month with plenty of energy. You want to take an active part in events involving people and things. You may be spending time with people from your past history. You lean toward reminiscence.

Virgo: This is a good week to concentrate on a challenging mental project. It will work better for you if you are revising, editing or itemizing details. If you are producing a creative work, you are likely to be overly critical of the outcome.

Libra: You may have felt particularly challenged at the beginning of this month by those who would manipulate you. However, that is now past. Your activities are on display. Others are noticing your performance, so make it great.

Scorpio: This is a week in which you will be given almost any help you request. Resources are offered through insurance, the public coffers or family. If you have experienced health problems, seek assistance from alternative disciplines.

Sagittarius: Good things come through travel, the Internet, publishing, teaching or legal interests now. Experiences with significant others are playful and fun. Those with clientele will see an upturn this week. Contracts can be negotiated favorably.

Capricorn: You may need to concentrate in order to avoid critics, whether they be internal or external. Instead of blame, use the discipline to tackle a project that requires concentration. Avoid contracts and business negotiations right now because misunderstandings may develop.

Aquarius: Concerns related to finances are put on the low burner now. You have increased physical and mental energy. Aspects especially favor love life and/or children. You want to play and this is a particularly good time to find new creative outlets and methods to enjoy your life.

Pisces: You may be somewhat disappointed with your thoughts or behavior this week. Perhaps you failed to act or think as your ideal self prefers. Whatever the circumstances, this is just one of those times when you have to recognize you are merely a human being.
