Which Type of Online Blackjack is the Best?

With online blackjack games now so easy to find, more players are finding different ways of enjoying this card game.

If you are planning to play online for the first time, you might notice many versions of this game, so which one should you choose?

Computer-Generated RNG Games

In this type of blackjack game, you are dealt virtual cards on a computer-generated table. It is typically a fast way of playing, as the cards are dealt instantly, and the result calculated as soon as you make your decision.

The most important piece of technology in this way of playing is the random number generator (RNG). This is an algorithm that ensures every single card is dealt on a completely fair and random basis. There is no way of knowing what will happen next, so it is exactly the same as playing with a physical deck of cards, but more convenient.

To play RNG games, you need to look for a trusted, reliable casino. By doing this, you can be sure that the software they use has been fully tested and is going to give you fair, unpredictable results every time.

You will find a variety of titles on good online casinos, with the likes of Classic Blackjack, European Blackjack, and Single Deck Blackjack among the different games. The rules don’t usually vary too much from one version to the next, but it is still worth reading through them before you start.

Live Dealer Games

Recently, there has been a surge in popularity for live dealer blackjack games. They take place on a real, physical table that is either located in a land casino or in a studio setting that has been designed to look like a luxurious casino.

The rules are usually exactly the same as in those RNG games, so it is simply a question of a different presentation. The dealer is live- streamed onto your screen and you can sometimes choose from different camera angles to let you enjoy the action in the way that best suits you.

You place your bet and make all of your decisions by pressing the buttons on the screen, which gives an impressive mixture of the excitement of a live casino game with the convenience of playing online.

You can choose the version you want from the live dealer lobby of a casino. Choose by dealer or look for varieties such as Blackjack Early Payout if you know what rules you want to play with. In some games, a limited number of players can take a seat at these tables, but you might be offered the chance to bet behind if you don’t wait to wait for a seat to become free.

Multihand Versions

Some versions of online blackjack come with the option of playing more than one hand at once. This gives you faster gameplay and adds to the volatility of the game. You might win or lose far more hands than you would have done playing with just one hand.

It might seem confusing at first, so playing with several hands is probably only suitable for experienced players who have a good understanding of the game and the strategy they want to use. A newcomer to the game might like to practice with one hand before going on to multihand versions.

If you are familiar with blackjack, playing with several hands isn’t really any more difficult than playing a single hand. You just need to look at what the dealer has as their first card before deciding whether to hit or stand on each of your hands.

Multihand versions are generally available on RNG games, as live dealer games offer you a single seat at the table.

Games with Side Bets

Another interesting way to vary your playing time is with side bets, which you can do if you are playing blackjack at Bovada. These are optional wagers that allow you the chance to bet on certain outcomes in addition to the main game.

For example, the perfect pairs side bet pays out if you get certain combinations or cards on the first two dealt. For example, the highest payout is typically on a perfect pair, which is when you get two of the same cards in the same suit.

21+3 is another popular side bet in blackjack. It takes into account your first couple of cards plus the dealer’s first card. The payouts are based on you getting combinations like three of a kind or a straight flush. A flush with all cards suited is usually the top-paying combination.

These side bets add to the volatility of the game, as they pay out more than the main game but you may need to wait for some time to win one of them. Serious players tend to avoid side bets, while those people just looking for some fun like to give them a try.
