The dark, winter solstice is a good time both to turn toward an inner quiet and to bring the light of the heart into the world. It is a time of giving. This evening we will hear short teachings from the Upanishads, ancient sources of yoga philosophy, that remind us that a life oriented toward inner stillness, respect for others, generosity and compassion can be our own offering of light to the world.
