L.A. East will open Charlottes first true "L.A. style" denim bar this weekend in the Blakeney Shopping Center on Rea Road complete with beer on tap, a pool table, and TV with Wii game system. They'll have some very special opening weekend sales and specials. Go check it out.
Who would you like to see move into the empty spot next to Target in Midtown Square?
The vacant Home Depot Design Center building in midtown Charlotte has caught the eye of some big name stores, local real estate brokers say.Whole Foods, Kohl's, Costco Wholesale, Sam's Club, BJ's Wholesale Club and Wal-Mart are among the names they say have checked out the location on Charlottetowne Avenue, where the Metropolitan mixed-use development has replaced Midtown Square shopping center.
Home Depot, which closed the 127,653-square-foot Design Center as part of a nationwide cutback, is selling the store, located underneath a Target in a 250,000-square-foot complex with a shared parking deck.

140,000 is the number of pairs of shoes entrepreneur Blake Mycoskie of Toms Shoes has given away to date in the United States, Argentina, Ethiopia and South Africa. His philosophy? For every pair of canvas shoes you buy, a child in need gets a pair.
The shoes start at $44 and come in men's, women's and children's sizes.
And here's the thing: They're cute. I'm particularly intrigued by Toms Wrap Boot.
