Oprah Drew the Crowd

I’ve been to Williams Brice Stadium in Columbia, S.C., before. But I’ve never seen anything like Sunday’s Oprah Winfrey rally.

I mean Barack Obama’s rally.

The South Carolina Democratic primary is Jan. 26. Obama, who is running for president, is courting voters all over the country with the help of the Queen of talk shows. And he needed Winfrey to get the estimated 29,000 people to attend the rally, which felt like a college homecoming at times.

The line to get into the stadium stretched down the sidewalk and wrapped around the building.

And it got me thinking — who are all of these people here to see?

F*** Terrorists — We Have to Watch Out for Emo Kids with Firearms

I was watching CNN when the news broke about the mall shootings in Omaha. My first thought was, “Oh shit, them terrorists finally decided to make Homeland Security happy,” but as we know now, it ain’t terrorists we need to be afraid of. It’s standard-issue emo kids with firearm access.

This kid, Robert Hawkins, was a sorry-ass motherfucking excuse for a mass murderer. He killed only eight people before he offed himself – now what kind of a weak PG-13 body count is that? I walk into a crowded mall I ain’t coming out alive from, and you can bet your pimpled ass I’m taking out at least twice that. It ain’t worth my time unless I get NC-17. Might as well curl myself up in front of the TV and watch some I Love Lucy reruns.

Wicked sold out...

Posted By on Tue, Dec 4, 2007 at 4:22 PM

If you were hoping to get tickets for Wicked in Charlotte, you're out of luck.

As of 2 p.m. today, the shows sold out. Now, here's my question -

Tickets were supposed to go on sale at 8 a.m. at the venue and at 10 a.m. online. At 10:30 a.m., when I checked, tickets weren't available for any of the shows online. So, if it took until 2 p.m. to sell out, were they just never sold online?

Was anyone able to purchase tickets online, or did you have to wait all day and night in lines around the block to get them?
