Last night, Mecklenburg Democrats chose Joel Ford as their new chairman. CL will have more on it later, but for now, let's just say the evening was pretty boisterous (as political meetings go):
Michael Evans, a former chairman, was criticizing the talk he said he'd heard in the lobby that falsely linked Ford to Nick Mackey. People were complaining that counters were partisan. Some people were overheard saying they didn't trust that votes would be counted fairly.
As Will Rogers once famously said, "I am not a member of any organized political party. I am a Democrat."
Ford said he plans on unifying the party. Good luck with that.
