Spitzer stinks

Posted By on Wed, Mar 12, 2008 at 12:51 PM

Here we go again.  Another politician caught up in a sex scandal. Actually, this one appears to be a sex and money laundering scandal, but we will see how it plays out.  Clearly as humans, we understand that we all make mistakes. However, to build a career on cleaning up corruption while leading a corrupt life is pretty much unacceptable.  That takes duplicity to another level. Politicians are people too, but the growing knowledge of just how corrupt some politicians are is disgraceful. Politics are marked by greed and abuse, but there is even a limit to the amount of that the American public is going to accept before pulling your card and showing you the door, as is the case with Spitzer.  Spitzer built a career on representing and demanding model behavior. He pissed it away just like that.  Now what is he a model of?  Shame, corruption and a lack of self-control.  Between the  athletes, entertainers and politicians, we clearly need to be looking inward for role models.
