Charlotte Symphony: Oz at Orchestra

There's no place like Belk Theater - at least not on Feb. 2. That's when the Charlotte Symphony will be taking us "somewhere over the rainbow" with its latest program, Oz at Orchestra. In addition to music from The Wizard of Oz, the event features a screening of the 1939 film. Anyone who's seen the flick - and really, that means everybody - knows these songs are catchy enough to remain stuck in your head for days. (To test this theory, we're going to throw out a title, and we dare you to not hum the tune for the rest of the day: "Lollipop Guild." See? (Those who want to take the experience a step further can do so by dressing up as an Oz character during a costume contest at the matinee showing.) $27.50-$72.50. Feb. 2, 2:30 p.m. & 8 p.m. Belk Theater, 130 N. Tryon St. 704-372-1000.
