Jimmy Buffett will return to Charlotte this spring for his Welcome to Fin Land Tour on April 21.
Tickets go on sale on Jan. 22.
Adding to the landscape of male-female duets these days is a band called The Civil Wars. I'm not surprised that they're based out of Tennessee and the Muscle Shoals area of Alabama.
They were on Jay Leno last night performing the title track from their album Barton Hollow.
The group will be coming to The Evening Muse on Feb. 9.

It has the word "brrr" and a couple of lightning bolts, too.
Charlotte band Matrimony is trying to raise $1,000 via the Kickstarter Web site in order to head out on tour this Spring. They're just over $100 from reaching their goal if they don't reach $1,000, they get none of it.
With plenty of fans in the area, it should be no problem to make the mark in the final hours of the fundraiser today. Help out and get the talented group on the road!

Ronnie Burrage is coming to perform at Petra's Piano Bar on Jan. 23 along with special guest Branford Marsalis.
Burrage will hold a clinic at The Underground at 4 p.m., followed by the concert at 7 p.m. Tickets for the clinic are $7, the concert is $20, $15 in advance.
Tickets are available starting Friday, Jan. 14.

Steve Martin and the Steep Canyon Rangers will return to Charlotte on May 22 at 8 p.m. He will perform at Ovens Auditorium.
The comedian and banjo player is set to release his second CD, Rare Bird Alert, in March. Tickets go on sale on Jan. 14.
Praxis has released a track, "Furies" featuring Iggy Pop, from its upcoming album, Profanation: Preparation for a Coming Darkness, due on Feb. 8.
If you aren't familiar with Praxis, it's the band comprised of guitarist Buckethead, drummer Brain and producer/bassist Bill Laswell. Among the guests on the new album are Pop, System Of A Downs Serj Tankian, singer Mike Patton and keyboardist Bernie Worrell of P-Funk fame.
