Nsenga Burton

With more than 10 years of experience in journalism and new media Nsenga Burton is the author of the weekly column The N Word, in which she examines the relationship between race, gender and popular culture. Burton also serves as editorial director for the Web site RushmoreDrive.com. In addition, she is currently an Assistant Professor of Communication and Media Studies at Goucher College.

She holds degrees from Northwestern University (B.S. Radio Television and Film); New York University (M.A. Cinema Studies); University of Pennsylvania (M.A. Communications) and the University of Southern California (Ph.D. Critical Studies/Cinema-Television). She previously taught at Johnson C. Smith University and the University of North Carolina at Charlotte.
