About two dozen protesters march around the city followed by hundreds of police. -
“I am here for the Democratic National Convention,” said Peter Scott, 25, after staring down a line of police officers for a few minutes. “The police are doing imperialistic measures which they claim are a safety net.” -
Germ (name given by man in pig nose) said he is from North Carolina and only came out to join the march to see “how the police operate.” -
n American flag with corporate logos in place of stars hangs outside a tent in Marshall Park in Charlotte’s uptown neighborhood. A person camped at the site told me there were between 40-50 tents in the park as of yesterday afternoon. The city is not enforcing a city ordinance which prohibits camping in the park and has even set up portable toilets next to the park for people camped in the park to use. -
This line of police with bicycles outside the demonstrators camp in Marshall Park numbered well over 100.
