Every once in a while, I get caught up in a ridiculous music-based reality show. I never watch CMT, but somehow got sucked into “Gone Country” — celebrities who want to be country singers.
The winner of the first season was Julio Iglesias Jr. and last season was Sebastian Bach of Skid Row fame. The whole thing is generally a trainwreck hosted by John Rich of Big & Rich.
Now, there’s word of a third season to air in January. The constestants are — George Clinton, Sheila E., former Miss USA Tara Conner, Taylor Dayne, Monkees lead vocalist/drummer Micky Dolenz, actor Richard Grieco and “American Idol” first-season runner-up Justin Guarini.
Yeah – can you picture any of them in country music? Probably as much as Iglesias and Bach…
