Nominees have been announced for the 51st Grammy Awards. Some of the more interesting categories:

Record of the Year — Adele, Coldplay, Leona Lewis, M.I.A., Robert Plant and Alison Krauss

Album of the Year — Robert Plant and Alison Krauss, Lil Wayne, Ne-Yo, Coldplay, Radiohead

Song of the Year — “American Boy” by Estelle featuring Kanye West, “Chasing Pavements” by Adele, “I’m Yours” by Jason Mraz, “Love Song” by Sara Bareilles, “Viva La Vida” by Coldplay

Best New Artist — Duffy, Adele, Jonas Brothers, Lady Antebellum, Jazmine Sullivan

Among some surprises — Ministry nominated for Best Metal Performance for the band’s cover of “Under My Thumb,” Zappa Plays Zappa nominated for Best Rock Instrumental Performance for “Peaches En Regalia,” Gnarls Barkley appearing in the Best Alternative Album category and Wayne Brady appearing in the Best Traditional R&B Vocal Performance category.
