I’d imagine that running a funeral home is difficult. The dead are always the main event, and the rooms are lined with coffins and filled with mourning family members and friends. With its latest production Blue, Actor’s Theatre of Charlotte sets out to take you on a journey into the lives of an African-American family (the Clarks) who run a local funeral home based in Kent, S.C. The play centers around the family’s attempts at keeping it all together. In the process, they’ll learn that both jazz and love have something to do with their successes. Through March 7. 8 p.m. $15-$29. The Actor’s Theatre of Charlotte, 650 E. Stonewall St. 704-342-2251. www.actorstheatrecharlotte.org.
