Steve Vetrone has been an assistant manager of Summit Coffee House in Davidson — an independent coffee shop whose global menu supports organic farming and promotes fair trade with private roasters around the world — for nearly six years.

1) Books: “I’m working on the classics. The last thing I read was Treasure Island.”

2) Movie:Shawshank Redemption and Jaws. When I was younger my dad had a boat and it was fascinating to be afraid of what could happen.”

3) Music: “Summit plays a lot of reggae tribal relaxation, Johnny Cash and there’s even some Pink Floyd in there.”

4) Travel: “I hope to travel this year to a small South American Farm. [At Summit] I’ve been exposed to a lot of culture just through coffee.”

5) Experiences: “Recently one of our athletic sponsors, Erik Weihenmayer, [who is a blind mountain climber] had a group of supporters to come [into Summit]. There were about 20 of them, and I ended up being a guide for the visually impaired. It was a really unique experience.”
