Darnell Brown is a Chicago-born, Charlotte-bred graphic designer with From Skratch Media by day and the energetic MC Nelace by night.
1) Place to Meet People: The Internet. “It’s a double-edged sword. Obviously, there are sick people out there, predators, stalkers … and did I say sick people? But on the other side of the coin, think of the all the people that you can now connect with all over this world.”
2) Restaurant: Maggiano’s Little Italy. “Italian is probably my favorite type of food and that joint has it all! “
3) Dream Concert: “Start off with some hip-hop: Busta Rhymes, Jay-Z, Diddy, Snoop and Lil’ Jon. Then some alternative/pop: 311, Linkin Park, Hoobastank, Nelly Furtado, and John Mayer. End it with some diva action: Beyoncé, Mariah Carey and Mary J.”
4) Art: “I enjoy comic book art a lot. I like penciled drawings. Pixar’s films are killin’ them though!”
5) Book: The Matrix and Philosophy by William Irwin. “I’m a Matrix-geek, no doubt. This book breaks down the many theories and philosophies from various writers about the world as we know it, how the mind works and poses a lot of questions.”
