October is Breast Cancer Awareness month and it’s hitting Plaza Midwood in style this year — on Oct. 17 to be exact. There are plenty of events to check out and a good number of them have live music.

Fuel Pizza will have live music in its parking lot, in addition to tinting the pizza crust pink. Proceeds will go to Save The Tatas. American Garden Center will also have live music in its parking lot.

One of the bigger events of the day is the Second Annual Breastival that will be held at Snug Harbor. The Lesser Pauls, Black Lashes and Erika Blatnik are all scheduled to play. Special performances by Venus Flytrap, Beth Amphetamine, Taloulah Blaquehead and Lilith Deville are also planned. DJ Scott Weaver will be on hand along with the emcee, Hope Nicolls. Free massages will be given courtesy of the Eastern Massage School and all proceeds will go to Save the Tatas.
