Tonight during Southend’s gallery crawl, Ciel Gallery will have an opening reception for its newest exhibition, titled Flights of Fancy. If the name in itself doesn’t sound like enough reason to check out, the funky piece of art (pictured) by Rebecca Collins should be. This piece, along with other mixed media mosaics, textile art and photography by 28 artists from the U.S., Australia, Monaco, Ireland and Canada, is featured in the show. Opening reception on April 2, 6 p.m.-9 p.m. Exhibition continues through May 21. Hours are Tuesday through Friday, 1 p.m.-5 p.m.; Saturday, 12:30 p.m.-5 p.m. Open any day and hour by appointment. Also open during Historic Southend’s First Friday gallery crawls each month, from 6 p.m.-9 p.m. Ciel Gallery, 1519 Camden Road. 704-577-1254. www.cielcharlotte.com.
