Look no further than Providence Gallery’s upcoming exhibit Vantage Point (which opens on Aug. 3 and continues through the end of the month) for a taste of travel. Artists Paula Holtzclaw, Dru Warmath and Sheryl Stalnaker bring Carolina landscapes and funky abstract pieces of art (like the pictured painting “Traveler,” by Warmath) to life on canvas with the intention of taking viewers on an atmospheric journey.

Free. Monday-Friday, 9 a.m.-5 p.m.; Saturday, 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Providence Gallery, 601 Providence Road, Suite A. 704-333-4535. www.providencegallery.net.
