In Sam Boykin’s April 2 story about Eddie Dodson, “The Rise & Fall of a Boomer Outlaw,” we understated the number of banks Dodson robbed. Don’t worry, the former Charlotte resident is still the most prolific bank robber in history; it’s just that he robbed a total of 72 banks — not 64 as we stated — in two different sprees. The first spree ended on February 10, 1984 on his 64th bank, when he was arrested by the LAPD. Dodson robbed eight more banks during the first four months of 1999, when he was arrested by the FBI.
In addition, journalist and screenwriter Timothy Ford, who was mentioned in the story, is working on a book about his friend Eddie Dodson, and would like to hear from folks who knew Dodson during his time in North Carolina. He can be
