Mark Kemp

Mark Kemp is Creative Loafing's editor-in-chief, and the author of Dixie Lullaby: A Story of Music, Race and New Beginnings in a New South. Kemp has previously served as editor-in-chief of the San Francisco alt-media outlet SF Weekly, entertainment editor at The Charlotte Observer, senior music editor at Rolling Stone, and vice president of music editorial for MTV Networks. In 1997 he received a Grammy nomination for editorial work on Farewells & Fantasies, a retrospective of songs by the '60s protest singer Phil Ochs.
