Here’s the Daily Show clip:

The cooler temperatures are perfect for a trip to the fair. Or is it? Five people were injured at the N.C. State Fair last night.

  1. As the linked article states, Yelton was a PRECINCT chairman, not the “Buncombe GOP chairman”. Most people who are “precinct chairmen” get that position by (a) showing up at their county convention; (b) voting for themselves because few precincts have more than one person show up to the county convention.

The linked article also states that “The TV show identified Yelton as a member of the state GOP executive committee, which he has never been.”
