Five people, places and things we really ain’t digging today.
• Lou Dobbs! I’ve had problems with this guy for his ongoing hard-on regarding so-called illegal immigrants. He carries on about this shit almost every night on his crappy CNN show. Now, the guy has crawled into bed with those nutty “birther” jack-wads. What’s next — U.F.O.’s?
• Mark Sanford. He’s coming back to South Carolina after a two-week vacation. Wait. WTF? A two-week vacation?! Could the folks in S.C. just fire this a$$hole already?!
• The run on guns. Folks in Mecklenburg County (and spots around the country) are apparently buying guns and bullets like crazy — partly, it seems, because they are afraid that Obama will take their guns … even though he never said he would. Actually, when he was running for office, he placed ads on TV saying he would not take away gun rights. But, hey, please don’t shoot me. I love gus.
• Paula Abdul. What the hell is she thinking leaving American Idol. Like she has a lot of options. I just hope she doesn’t start singing again. Dancing, yes. Singing? No.
• Old fashioned record labels. They’re about as dead as … uh … print newspapers!

I say that since Reagan’s days, conservatives have been as bad as liberals on gun rights. I didnt expect Obama to actually take guns away, but I’d be buying guns if I didnt already have them. Well armed citizens are the best antidote to oppressive govt.
I now agree that Obama should release the birth certificate, why not make it go away. Ignoring it just makes things worse.
Mark Sanford is such a dissapointment.
There was a story on Yahoo Monday (“Lou Dobbs challenges his own network”). The story mentioned how CNN was committed to being impartial and an ex-employee was quoted as saying Dobbs was an embarrassment to CNN being a reputable network.
Impartial? Reputable? I enjoyed laughing at those lines. Do these honchos even watch their network? Tune in any time and its like a two bit local station with a little Entertainment Tonight drivel for good measure.
CNN is no better than Fox or any of the mainstream media – including public radio/TV. Regardless of political bent, the MSM are simply stenos regurgitating the corporment line/lie (govt + corporate power brokers). The public is rarely provided the whole story on any issue. Follow up questions, relevant questions, investigative reporting are replaced by soundbites, fluff, and celebrity gossip. The only time we get 24/7 in depth analysis and coverage is when it involves sex, drugs, or a politically incorrect gaffe. Reporters in Russia fear being murdered (but many continue to pursue the story) while over here they’re co-opted by the power players and scared shitless of being fired for practicing actual journalism So much for a “free” press.
Dobbs is no more an embarrassment to CNN than CNN is to itself. Sadly, Dobbs is the only high profile media hack who’ll talk about the economy from the working stiff viewpoint as opposed to other talking heads who blame workers and unions for their plight, cheerlead for the corporment who wreak havoc on livelihoods, and dwell on deceptive statistics and Wall Street numbers to tell us how economic recovery is “just around the corner.” Dobbs loses mucho cred though when he harps on immigrants while ignoring govt and business policies that fuel immigration.
