Supporters of Sotomayor are as pathetic as her bigoted detractors.
Again, the corporment (govt + corporate power players)has “gotten over” on the public as another supplicant/puppet for the corporment gets an influential, decision making position while the only thing the public gets is the “joy and pride” of having a racial or gender diverse face at the top.
The Supreme Court keeps getting stacked with jurists from the corporate side of law. As a result, we see decisions that increasingly conflict and/or suppress the rights of individuals and the public interest at large. Where are the nominees for the Court who have resumes heavy in public defender offices, legal aid, immigrants rights, labor rights, human rights, civil rights, etc? These type jurists never make the short (or long) list of nominees. Ideological and work sector diversity is more important than racial/gender diversity as we see millions of examples of minorities and women being screwed over by those who “look like us.”
