As someone who has riden around Charlotte bumping homemade J Dilla beat CDs, you can only imagine my delight to see the legendary Roots crew do a free mixtape covering their favorite joints from the late-hip hop icon.
It was dope to see that this 14-track instrumental compilation had some of my favorite Dilla joints on it. “Antiquity” with The Miquel Atwood-Ferguson Dillchestra is pure heat and “Make Em NV” is cool, but fans can also enjoy cuts from Donuts as well.
