Putting together this year’s neighborhood guide has really made me appreciate how cool Charlotte really is. And when I say Charlotte is cool, I don’t mean just in much-hyped areas like NoDa or South End, either.
Don’t believe me?
In our Neighborhood Navigator, we offer up a list of 108 things you should do in the Queen City before you die (or move away, whichever comes first). Last year, we profiled eight historic and burgeoning neighborhoods. This year, we blow it out to 17. From Huntersville to Steele Creek, Beatties Ford Road to Matthews, these lists offer hidden gems and neighborhood staples worth checking out.
Of course, this isn’t an end-all, be-all guide to all that is cool in our city, but it’s a pretty good start. Whether you’re a Charlotte native or newbie, save this edition in your car for those times you get lost in an unfamiliar part of town. Instead of freaking out and tapping the “Home” button in your car’s GPS like a pansy, reference this guide. You could discover a new favorite spot worth the drive.
After you’ve perused the guide, don’t forget to vote for Neighborhood of the Year in our annual Ballot of the Hoods contest. Voting ends May 4 at midnight.

Hey PSB. We’ve broken up the 108 items by each neighborhood. You’ll have to click through each neighborhood to see all our recommendations.

Thanks for the list! I suggest you highlight or use a different color for the “Browse Neighborhoods” so it’s easier to see. Anyway, another great idea is to check out Sky High Sports (http://cha.jumpskyhigh.com). Its a great facility, very good employees. The kids always love going. You can literally let them bounce off the walls there! It’s also great place to hold team building exercises. We’ve been there several times and it was so much fun!
