This two-day film event highlights the art of short films. Emerging and professional filmmakers from all over will showcase their works (in a number of diverse genres) in Butter’s opulent, clubby atmosphere. The roster is long, but some flicks scheduled to be screened include Eva-Marie Elg’s Sleeping and Dreaming of Food, Anya Belkin’s Upgrades, Marc Russo’s Good Sportsmanship, Daniel Stine’s God and Vodka and Chris Perry’s The Incident at Tower 37. For more information and a detailed list on participating filmmakers and films to be screened, visit www.lightfactory.org/filmmakers-showcase-2011. $5-$7. May 13, 9:30 p.m.; May 14, 8 p.m. Butter, 950 Seaboard St.

  1. Love the short films… been to festivals in LA and its more fun than you think. Gonna start out at the beer garden VBGB, love that place, then head over to Butter.
