There comes a point in chronic illness where you realize you are no longer trying to “optimize.”
You are trying to survive.
For many people dealing with chronic Lyme disease, mold toxicity, neuroinflammation, chronic fatigue, gut dysfunction, anxiety, and nervous system collapse, life can slowly become smaller and smaller. Energy disappears. The brain becomes inflamed. The body feels toxic. The nervous system becomes trapped in a constant state of stress and exhaustion.
I know this because I’ve lived it.
Over the past several years, I’ve spent thousands of hours researching healing modalities, testing protocols, functional medicine, detoxification, nervous system regulation, gut repair, and mitochondrial restoration.
Some things helped temporarily. Some did nothing. A few made a profound difference.
Two of the therapies that continue to stand out in my own journey are:
- Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT)
- Major Autohemotherapy (MAH) Ozone Therapy
Combined with foundational gut repair and detoxification support, these therapies may help create the conditions for the body to finally begin healing.
Not overnight.
Not magically.
But steadily.
The Problem With Lyme + Mold Illness
Most people with chronic Lyme and mold illness are not dealing with “just an infection.”
They are dealing with a systems collapse.
The body becomes overwhelmed by:
- Chronic inflammation
- Neurotoxins and biotoxins
- Gut dysfunction
- Mitochondrial impairment
- Nervous system dysregulation
- Hormonal suppression
- Poor oxygen utilization
- Detoxification impairment
The result is often:
- Brain fog
- Anxiety
- Fatigue
- Light sensitivity
- Shortness of breath
- Dizziness
- Muscle weakness
- Gut issues
- Panic attacks
- Insomnia
- Feeling disconnected from life itself
This is why simply “killing pathogens” often fails.
The terrain must heal.
HBOT: Flooding the Body With Oxygen
Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT) involves breathing concentrated oxygen inside a pressurized chamber.
Under pressure, oxygen dissolves more deeply into tissues, plasma, and areas of the body that may be oxygen-deprived due to inflammation or poor circulation.
For many people with Lyme and mold illness, HBOT may help support:
- Brain oxygenation
- Neuroinflammation reduction
- Tissue repair
- Mitochondrial function
- Circulation
- Recovery from chronic inflammation
- Nervous system calming
One of the biggest things people notice after HBOT is mental clarity.
It can feel as if the brain finally receives oxygen again.
The body often shifts from a stressed, inflamed survival state into a more restorative state.
Some people also report improvements in:
- Sleep
- Mood
- Energy
- Breathing
- Cognitive function
- Exercise tolerance
HBOT is not a miracle cure. But for many people, it becomes an important piece of rebuilding the body.
MAH Ozone Therapy: Supporting the Body’s Terrain
Major Autohemotherapy (MAH) is a form of ozone therapy where blood is removed, infused with ozone/oxygen, and returned back into the body.
The goal is not simply to “kill infections.”
The deeper goal is improving oxygen utilization, circulation, immune signaling, and reducing the burden placed on the body.
People pursuing MAH often use it to support:
- Detoxification
- Immune modulation
- Oxygen metabolism
- Mitochondrial function
- Circulation
- Inflammation reduction
One reason many Lyme and mold patients are interested in ozone therapies is because chronic illness frequently creates a low-oxygen internal environment.
The body becomes stagnant.
Inflamed.
Congested.
Exhausted.
The theory behind therapies like MAH is that by improving oxygen dynamics and circulation, the body may function more efficiently and restore balance more effectively.
Gut Healing: The Foundation Most People Ignore
You cannot heal the brain while ignoring the gut.
Many people with chronic illness also have:
- Leaky gut
- Poor microbiome diversity
- Chronic inflammation
- Food sensitivities
- Malabsorption
- Constipation
- Impaired detox pathways
The gut is one of the central control systems of the body.
If the gut remains inflamed, healing becomes much harder.
Two simple tools that have helped many people support gut repair are:
Psyllium Husk
Psyllium husk is a soluble fiber that may help:
- Improve bowel movements
- Support toxin elimination
- Feed beneficial bacteria
- Improve stool quality
- Reduce constipation
One overlooked aspect of detoxification is elimination.
If toxins are not leaving the body effectively, many people simply continue recirculating them.
L-Glutamine
L-Glutamine is an amino acid heavily used by the intestinal lining.
Many practitioners use it to support:
- Gut lining repair
- Intestinal integrity
- Recovery from inflammation
- Digestive healing
Personally, L-glutamine was one of the first supplements where I noticed a real difference in my digestive system.
Simple does not mean weak.
Sometimes the foundations matter most.
Healing Is Not Linear
One of the hardest parts of chronic illness is that healing rarely happens in a straight line.
There are setbacks.
Flare-ups.
Fear.
Days where you question everything.
But the body was designed to heal when given the right environment, inputs, support, and time.
That means:
- Better sleep
- Better food
- Clean air
- Nervous system regulation
- Sunlight
- Movement
- Oxygen
- Minerals
- Gut repair
- Reducing toxic burden
- Hope
Healing often comes from stacking small wins consistently over time.
Not from chasing one magic answer.
Building While Healing
One thing I’ve realized during this journey is that life does not completely pause while you heal.
You still have to live.
Still have to work.
Still have to build your future.
That’s part of why I’m building Telos Wellness.
To simplify the healing journey.
To create clarity.
To help people feel less alone.
To build tools, systems, education, and eventually AI-powered guidance for people navigating chronic illness, mold toxicity, gut dysfunction, nervous system collapse, and energy depletion.
Because there are millions of people silently suffering right now.
And many of them have been told:
“Your labs are normal.”
“It’s anxiety.”
“It’s all in your head.”
It’s not.
The body keeps score.
And healing is possible.
