This year’s theme for the Black History Concert, presented annually by noted jazz musician Tyrone Jefferson and A Sign of the Times, is Suite: Songs for Our Fathers. Jazz and R&B are on tap with other highlights including an appearance by Abiodun Oyewole of The Last Poets and Gary Munford and the Senior African Drum Ensemble. ASOTT is an organization addressing music education and social activism that captures the spirit of African and African-American ancestors. This year’s show focuses on black men and the social benefits of involved fatherhood. The event, at CPCC’s Halton Theater, begins at 5 p.m. Tickets range from $15-$35.
