It’s time to do your part during the 3rd Annual Sirens and Shields, an auction where firefighters, police, and other first responders come together for your bidding pleasure. At the event hors d’oeuvres will be served and an array of items will be up for grabs, including tickets to Bobcats and Checkers games, private cooking lessons and more. But, best of all, you get your chance to be a hero, as proceeds raised from the event go to the Greater Carolinas Chapter of the American Red Cross and local police (CMPD) and firefighters (CFD). $10 donation in advance; $15 at the door (Public safety workers will get in for $10 on the day of the event with ID). 6 p.m.-11 p.m. The Pavilion at the EpiCentre, 210 E. Trade St. For more information, visit www.redcrosshelps.org/sirensandshields.
