After the release of her newest novel, Time is a River, Mary Alice Monroe’s hand still isn’t tired; that’s right folks, she is ready to do some book signings. Although she hopes the novel will take readers to a place in nature, she better be hoping it brings them to the bookstore. The main character in her book is a breast cancer survivor, who takes a trip outside of Asheville, N.C. to find healing amongst the mountains. Quick doctors: that’s a cure! Despite its overcoming/inspirational plot, which is typical in a lot of novels these days, this one might be worth the read (bonus points for the setting).
