With so much political activism at under his belt, it’s easy to forget that, back in the 1960s, Dick Gregory used to be a full-time comedian. Along with guys like Bill Cosby, he helped to sweep away minstrel-flavored black entertainment. Then, once he was done making comedic history, he chose to use his quick wit to challenge injustice and bring about social change around the world. Now, decades after he first stepped on the scene, we have the pleasure of laughing with the man and bearing witness to the fruits of his struggles.
