Ralphie May is huge, and I don’t just mean in the comedy world. Ever since May starred as contestant and finalist of NBC’s Last Comic Standing, things have really blowing up in his life. He was featured on the TV show Celebrity Fit, and he’s also kept touring a constant, as well as releasing new, funny material. His latest is a DVD titled Austin-Tatious and it’s all about him, too. After all you can’t get much more ostentatious than Ralphie May. He’s good at saying the things we don’t dare to say aloud for fear of pissing someone off or, more importantly, being sued. And that’s why we love him. That said, head to McGlohon Theatre tonight for a special Ralphie May performance, presented by The Comedy Zone and Blumenthal Performing Arts Center. Let him take a bite out of your day and he’ll leave you hungry for more. Also, local comedian Johnny Millwater opens. $25. 7:30 p.m. McGlohon Theatre, 345 N. College St. 704-372-1000. www.blumenthalcenter.org.
