Stand-up comedian Carlos Mencia doesn’t hold anything back. Currently on his At Close Range tour, he’ll be releasing his radical jokes on racism, politics and ethnic/gender stereotypes. If you’re not laughing, then he’s laughing at you. Known for Mind of Mencia, which debuted on Comedy Central, the Honduras-born Mencia is also referred to as an “equal opportunity offender.” One thing’s for sure, he’ll leave you either pissed off or laughing. For the latter, it’s worth a shot, right? $42.50. 8 p.m. Ovens Auditorium, 2700 E. Independence Blvd. 704-372-3600. www.livenation.com.
