With the presidential election drawing near, the political atmosphere is stirred. Gas is hard to find these days and all of us could use a little humor, so when The Second City: DeFace The Nation releases their own concoction of comedy geared for the elections, there’s cause to celebrate. Get a laugh as the comedy group pokes fun and insults in all directions of the political spectrum. From McCain to Obama, to Bush to Bill and Hillary Clinton, a lot is to be said. Just laugh and don’t get offended, because it’s all in good fun. $29.50-$34.50. Oct. 14, 15, 16, 7:30 p.m.; Oct. 17, 18, 19, 8 p.m. Booth Playhouse, 130 N. Tryon St. 704-372-1000. www.blumenthalcenter.org.
