It’s perfectly clear that artist Robert Kushner is inspired by flowers. His textured paintings of the blossoms, among diverse colored backgrounds, capture their detail from curve to curve. Kushner, who has been painting since his start on American art scene in the early 1970s, has created works that can be found in galleries across the U.S. and abroad in the Tate Gallery in London, England and the Uffizi Gallery in Florence, Italy. You can see his art in Charlotte at Jerald Melberg Gallery. July 26- Sept. 6. Monday-Saturday, 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Jerald Melberg Gallery, 625 South Sharon Amity Road. 704-365-3000. www.jeraldmelberg.com.
