First United Methodist Church is hosting a Fat Tuesday celebration in preparation for the season of Lent, with pancake supper and gospel mass worship service. Festivities include a pancake supper cooked by the Rev. Ivan Peden and the Rev. Bob Boggan. Children will be able to make and dress in costumes. Dinner at 5:30 p.m.; Worship at 7 p.m. The worship service will feature Robert Ray’s “Gospel Mass,” performed by the Chancel Choir with guitar, bass, piano and drums and conducted by music director John-Palmer Smith. Guest soloists are Jan Plummer and George Washington III.
