Finally getting into the holiday spirit is hard. Let’s face it. Without holiday spirit, you wouldn’t even know it was Christmas time in the South because the weather doesn’t change. Not a lick. That’s why it’s so “cooling” to know that it’s time for the Second String Santa 18th Annual Holiday Party again. Young professionals from the community get together to give back to underprivileged kids. All toys will be distributed through Mecklenburg County Social Services. Items requested include black and white dolls, educational toys (no calling dice a counting game), toiletries, teen jewelry. makeup, large sweatshirts and headset radios. 7-11 p.m. $10 w/ unwrapped toy; $30 without.
