If you’re looking for a great (and cheap) way to spend a Sunday afternoon, here’s an idea: The Classic International Black Cinema Series. The series, curated by local film expert Felix Curtis, was designed to shine a spotlight on forgotten, but outstanding, Africa-American films. And, uh, it’s free. 2 p.m. Harvey B. Gantt Center, 551 S. Tryon St. 704-547-3700. www.ganttcenter.org.
