The Van Landingham Estate

Maybe you can’t imagine eating anything more extraordinary than your grandmother’s home cooking. Even the thought of going outside the basics of fried chicken, Salisbury steak or grilled pork chops scares the dickens out of you. Meat and potatoes, enough to fuel any red-blooded American, is all the body really needs, right? Forget your froufrou edamame or asparagus tips. If this is an accurate description of the limits of your palette, then Taste of the World isn’t the kind of event you should entertain. The culinary voyage begins with a reception at the Charlotte Museum of History followed by a guided motor coach tour to sample cuisines from three different international restaurants including: African, Asian (Indian and Thai), Central and South American, Cuban, Jamaican and Mexican. Then guests are swept away to the beautiful Van Landingham Estate for dessert and coffee. Taste of the World is Thursday, April 6 from 5:00-9:30pm. This event costs $35 with limited seats available.
